Hold on - come feb its 21 degrees now and warmer than normal... i did the Dragon in 1992 just up the road from betsy-coed and the temperature dropped to minus 15, and feck me it was cold,TBH if I had a chest virus the fecker would have fecked off cause it wouldnt take the cold, their was frost and ice inside the tent from heavy breathing from inside the german army surplus bag with arms trying to keep warm, thick frost everywhere, and I borrowed a cardboard box to lie on cause it was that cold on the floor... Now thats what you call cold, not like now where everyone says if its below 0 its cold.. If you want to sort the men from the boys.. I was riding to London and back 3 times a week back in December of 2010 when we had all that snow and freezing Temperature down to minus 10, but a wind chill factor of minus 30-70 at 70mph in sub zero temp after the sun went down .. IF YOU A MAN DO THE ELEPHANT RALLY>>> NOW THATS COLD

dragon rally is usually plenty cold enough, usually -4c or -5c ish, its enough to ensure to drink enough to knock yourself out.

did you get tickets christhedivvy?

There are two decent sized groups leaving for the dragon this year, only will include 4 people and the other is 3 people I think.

Let us know your plans.

that quote above should read:

[quote="christhedivvy"] no, just camping all year round, not sum warm weather whimp whose more bothered about polishing their bike rather than actually camping in a cold wet field!

it's still not making a great argument for spending a few winter nights in a tent :scratchhead: maybe if every biker was forced to spend a night in a tent in winter then that would make them real bikers? but I don't see the link!

;) booking precious holidays from work is a summer choice for me and camping at the seaside in the sunshine is much better, but you may convert me with some pictures of a freezing wet field with no sea  that could do it

spring summer autumn, spring summer autumn is what we should have, I've never ridden in the cold and rain and don't intend to start now...my 1200 miles each year is enough for me ;) wish I was real biker...now wheres that tent store?

in fact forget it i've just seen the pictures on google of the Dragon Rally and of men dressed as women....ugly men with beards looking like ugly women...if I wanted to spend time with ugly women I'd go out for a night in Sheffield

below is one of the more normal looking men......others are quite disturbing

You are all crazy....
Intentionally making yourself cold is not a means of becoming a 'man'.
I though we were supposed to be 'hunter gatherers' and that means keeping ourselves alive and warm!!
I have been using the bike to get to work for the past 3 weeks... it has been bleedin cold and a bit risky, but necessary, camping in the cold? Not necessary for me. :P

well the dragon was brill!

I think everybody has some confusions about the previous comments about attendees to the dragon....

being a real biker does NOT require attending the dragon

attendees to the dragon are however all real hardcore bikers

the two are NOT mutually exclusive

that said if you haven't been you wouldn't understand.

and if I have to explain, you would understand.

If you fancy finding out why then let me know and ill be sure to get anybody a ticket for next to find out for themselves.

Photos to follow.... :)

Hats and coats inside and it wasn't a regular freezing cold do. Bears have the right idea hibernating in their own cave all winter until it ends
