Been on the Ron Haslem Race School at Silverstone today, brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
Brand new 2010 CBR 600RR, top class instruction from the people that know and a fecking fast track.
Comments from you instructor like " fecking ring its neck, its not your bike whats the problem" Love it.
I have always been one for a bolt upright riding position, not anymore, I can hang off with the best of them, Toe sliders down :thumb:
The instructors , or mine anyway, were keen to get you riding as close to them as posibble so they can see in detail what you are doing, now let me tell you that 130 mph through Abbey only 6 foot off the back wheel of your instuctor is awsome, especially when hes showing a thumbs up all the way through :D :D .

Spoke to the man himself and asked if they were going back to Donnington and he said YES. They only have a 1 year deal at Silverstone. Ron said that Donnington will be open for trackdays in about a months time :thumb: He rode the track on Wednesday.

Also £70 would of bought you a pillion ride on the back of Ron Haslem on a Fireblade.........................yeah ok.... but seeing him do 150mph down Hanger straight on one wheel with a pillion made me think again

Top day.

I did a Ron Haslam Race School day a few years ago at Donington. Really enjoyed it and learned a lot from it. :thumb: We had an excellent instructor! Wouldn't mind another go sometime - but might have to wait until he comes back up north next year! :)

Ummm.. kinda  . I'd love to do it but not working at the mo, so there's no way I could justify it to the fun adjuster, she'd cut my nads off

Did this on wednesday, managed to get it a bit cheaper as I only booked it last Friday. :thumb:

First time I've ever been on track so it was a fantastic experience :D and learnt hell of a lot which should help me on the road.

First session, steady tootle round track building speed as the session went on, not too many others on track either so plenty of room to try the different lines.

Second session, instructor told me I had to start hanging off bike going through corners , never tried this on road but it felt natural after a few laps. All was going well until near the end of the session then bang and pain, so thats what it feels like to come off . Rider in front had a low side and kindly left his bike spinning in the middle of the track for me to run into. Ar*e over t*t, then down to earth with a bump. Plenty of bruises but no severe damage although I doubt I'll be riding for about a week, full Kudos to Rossi, Lorenzo and all for riding with broken bones, etc.

Third session, they allowed me back out on track after a quick pep talk  as there was very little I could do to avoid the bike. To add to issues the last session was wet but it was good experience and still managed to hang off the side of the bike, had a few slides but nothing too severe. :cheesy:

Although I will be nursing bruises for a few days, I had an excellant day, my instructer was fantastic and I would definately do it again, although I fancy Donninton if they move back. Main lesson learnt, don't use your own bike, the accident was totally out of my control and not through anything I had done wrong.

Can't wait for photos to arrive, hope they have one of me flying through the air. :shifty:

Oh, nearly forgot, Ellison was on track doing some "instructing", when I was hung off the bike going through a corner as fast as I could, he just rode round the outside as if I wasnt moving. Those boys can shift a bit. :salut:

Excellent day and would truly recommend.

the price makes more sense after two of their bikes bounce down the road in one day  The track dont get given free...and staff dont come cheap, then there's got to be profit made :thumb: and Mr TAXman needs his chunk  I've not done trackdays and would enjoy such an outing,... any other Busa riders fancy breaking their wrists and buying me a session on track?
Be happy.....have a wonderful day

I agree Jon, I was on the afternoon session and there were four bikes went down that I know of.

Not cheap for them to maintain at that rate.
