USING SHOUT BOX

Postby jon'n'yvon » 15 Jul 2010, 15:33

people dont use it these days and it may be because it works different to the last one.

WRITE YOUR MESSAGE IN SHOUTBOX AND THEN PRESS ENTER ON YOUR OWN KEYBOARD IN FRONT OF YOU...NOT ON THE SCREEN
Be happy.....have a wonderful day

Maybe it's got nothing to do with not knowing how to use it Jon, for me there's 2 reasons why I don't use it any more

1/ It's crap, nowhere near as good as the one we had a couple of years ago that auto refreshed

2/ The people arn't there any more, I used to be glued to shoutbox on a Friday night, when we had the likes of Mick an Trish (as we never was sure who it was lol) , Lee, Gixa Rob, Awesomebikerbabe, Twinspark, Kelpie, Bud an to some extent even the lovely Pass family, but alas them days are over.

i agree with Niall on the second point basically the banter isn't there anymore which is a shame i don't think it's because people don't know how to use it

Shoutbox works just the same as the old one for me. :?

The reason I don't use it as much is cos I don't browse the forum as much, which is because I can't be arsed with the new layout. The old one was miles better for a number of reasons.

Ok, so if you want to rant about the new layout (or praise it) go to Buds thread in debates viewtopic.php?f=30&t=24445 and cast your vote there. I never use the shoutbox much anyway mainly 'cos I can't figure out how to put smilies in  .So how DO you put smilies in the shoutbox?

You have to type in the appropriate characters that make up the smilie. Since this question comes up time & time again, I have compiled a complete list to make matters easier. Simply type what is shown in the attached list. :thumb:

PS make sure you include a space before and after just like you would if you were typing a word in.

Edit: File updated, the waving one was wrong
