FIREBLADE Regulator/Rectifiers

Mine has gone and I am strongly advised not to buy a Honda replacement as, a) they are expensive and b) they are as bad as the original parts.
Anyone any idea of anywhere locally that stocks aftermarket rectifiers?

Thanks for the info guys but it was the generator/stater coils that was the problem. no after market but can get these repaired.
Big thanks to Manhatten Motorcycles for helping me out in identifying the problem, top guys.

Give vinny at stuff4bikes a call or just order one over the web. He knows his reg recs like the back of his hand as honda ones are his main seller. www.stuff4bikes.co.uk
We were talking about reg recs the other day as he sells gen honda stuff too now. A gen honda reg rec came in the exact packaging as the japanise made 'cheap' replacement part. Kinda makes you think that Honda are having them nmade in the same factory and adding a honda premium

Make sure the stator windings are OK too.

Bawco...Bradford Armature Winding COmpany.........should be able to rewind the stator for you.

Mick, get one ebay, £49 and they are the new design with the heat sink on the back. Mine came next day, 5 minutes to fit and away you go

Dave, see further down the post, I posted that it was not the rectifier but the stator coils.
Manhatten checked it out and there is no output from the generator. The advice I have is that it could have been a faulty reg/rec that blew the generator.
West country windings want £121 to rewind the stator coils but want me to send the reg/rec to check. My bet is they will recommend for new reg/rec.

I have checked this out and in America the 04-06 blades have all had an extended warranty of 6 years on this part because of the number of failures. Honda UK have not issued the extended warranty but will consider replacement if inspected by a Honda dealer and found the stator is found to be defective.
I am ringing P & D tomoz to get their advice.

Thats usually the case, they both go together, again vinny is an agent for eletrafix winders as he had his done recently too.
So gets a good discount.

He is also a genuine Honda supplier now. Its a good job too, the rate of bike dealerships which we seem to be losing.
Ive gotta take my blade back for one of its recalls and Mileskingsport is my nearest now!!!
